It isn’t just off-the-grid people living in old Airstream trailers on rural farmland that report seeing aliens; a number of high-profile celebrities claim to have had close encounters as well. Here are six celebrities who have gone public about their brushes with beings not of this earth:
1. Mick Jagger
One of the Men in Black movies hilariously “outed” Jagger as an alien in disguise, “here to breed with earth women.” However, in 1968, the Rolling Stones frontman supposedly really saw a bright, cigar-shaped object in Glastonbury while on a camping trip with then-girlfriend Marianne Faithfull. He says he saw another ship while the Stones were performing at the Altamont Speedway. Unconfirmed reports also say he has some sort of UFO detector in his home. Where can we get one of those??
2. Dan Aykroyd
Dan Aykroyd was raised in a family that openly discussed metaphysical topics. In his adult years, he became quite outspoken about the existence of ETs. One night at his home in New York, he woke up in the wee hours of the morning and felt “compelled by a presence” to go outdoors, where he saw a UFO hovering overhead. He later found out that many people in the area had experienced the same thing. He’s created a DVD about aliens called Dan Aykroyd: Unplugged on UFOs. Aykroyd has also recounted a story about an encounter with the real Men In Black while in talks to create another UFO documentary.
3. Tom Cruise
Did you know that Scientology has a firm belief in aliens within its teachings? That’s right; in fact, they believe that aliens seeded our planet. While Tom Cruise has not talked publicly about this, in 2007, reports surfaced that he was constructing a multi-million dollar alien bunker on his Colorado property. Why? To protect against a coming alien takeover! Is an alien apocalypse in our future?! Only time will tell.
4. Russell Crowe
Aussie actor Russell Crowe’s story is unique in that he claims to have actually filmed a UFO. He even downloaded it to YouTube; feel free to check out the story for yourself on the CNN YouTube channel.
5. Fran Drescher
The Nanny star with the unique voice and unforgettable laugh claims to have been abducted by aliens in junior high. She says they implanted a chip in her hand at that time, and that her now-ex-husband has a similar scar on his hand. She even believes the aliens programmed them to meet later in life! Her ex is more reticent on the topic, but Fran believes it.
6. Sammy Hagar
The former Van Halen frontman claims to have had a few alien encounters, including one detailed in his autobiography Red. He says he was awoken in the middle of the night to a bright light and an awareness of two otherworldly beings in a ship outside his home. When they sensed he was awake, he claims they did some sort of “mind-meld” with him and downloaded data from his brain before taking off.
It’s surprising (and pretty impressive) just how many big celebrities believe in the existence of aliens, and aren’t afraid to say so. What’s your take on the matter?
