Can You Make it Through the New Blue Cross Advert Without Crying?

Blue Cross adverts seem to have a habit of making us want to descend into unattractive sobs at our desk, but their latest offering is an absolute tear-jerker. If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure you have some tissues on standby, and preferably a small, furry animal to cuddle throughout.

The video, which has so far been viewed over 80,000 times on YouTube, begins with an unloved dog called Baxter escaping from being chained up outside in his owner’s garden. As the dishevelled pup wanders the streets alone, he softly starts to sing Gloria Gaynor’s song ‘I Will Survive’, all while watching other dogs tucked up in the warm with their loving owners.

Thankfully, the advert ends on a happy note, with Baxter being taken under the wing of a small army of cats, rabbits, dogs and guinea pigs, who manage to deliver him to a new, caring home.

BRB, just off to cuddle my cats.
