Drake Dancing Memes Are Taking Over The Internet

Let’s face it, some musicians were put on this earth to dazzle us with their dance moves. Beyonce’s one. Justin Trousersnake is another. But dancing queens need to bow down to their new lord and saviour – none other than Canadian rapper, Drake.

Apple Music recently debuted the rapper’s hotly anticipated new single Hotline Bling. And while many were preoccupied with Drake’s choice of attire (A bright red puffer jacket? A turtle neck jumper?!) there’s one thing that has united the Internet – Drake’s terrible, terrible dancing.

At first glance it seems that his moves are kinda out of place in the video. I mean, it’s not exactly the most dance worthy song going. But that doesn’t stop Drake, oh no. His dance moves are absolutely on point.

Let’s take a quick look at a few of his favourite moves going.

Firstly, there’s the move that isolates the star’s head from the rest of the body:

Then there’s the move that sees your right leg take on a life of its own:

And, finally, there’s the move that fits right in between ‘salsa steps’ and ‘mosh pit rocking’.

And then there’s the Drake dancing memes

In true Internet style, the ridicule hasn’t ended there. In fact, there’s even a whole Twitter page dedicated to making Drake dancing memes. These 30-second videos of Drake ‘dancing’ along to other songs include everything from Barry Manilow’s Copacabana to Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weekie Yellow Polkadot Bikini. And, as you can expect, the results are hilarious.

Just look at how well his moves sync up to the Rugrats theme tune!

And his salsa-esque moves really take on a life on their own when paired with Celia Cruz’s La Vide Es Un Carnaval:

And ditto for Khia’s My Neck, My Back – maybe that’s what Drake was really dancing to in his coloured cube?

And then there’s this topical mash-up. It’s definitely going to be our choice of move on the dance floor this Halloween:

But can you get much better than Drake dancing along to the Frasier theme? Wait. Can we start a petition to replace the show’s opening credits with this?

Yeah it’s all a bit of fun, but we couldn’t help wondering just what Drake really thinks of all his Drake dancing memes. A source told HollywoodLife.com: “At first, Drake was mad and then looked at the bigger picture and realized that people are going to actually watch the video and listen to the song and then hopefully buy it.” What a sport.

That’s all well and good, but after viewing all these spoof videos, we can barely remember his actual song. Was it about puffer jackets or something?
