2. Protein World – Are You Beach Body Ready?
This advertisement from earlier in 2015 went viral for all the wrong reasons. It featured a model with protruding ribs baiting passengers on London’s Underground network to fit into some unrealistic ideal of body shape. More than that, it also made it seem that you had to subscribe to a certain body type to be ready for the beach. Which is as ridiculous as it is redundant. The Advertising Standards Agency actually ended up receiving hundreds of complaints about this as it was “offensive, irresponsible and harmful because it promotes an unhealthy body image”.
